Musée des Transports Urbains de France (AMTUIR)
Language: French.

"In 1957, when France was decommissioning almost all of its tram networks instead of modernizing them, a few enthusiasts decided to save these trams to show future generations what urban transport was like and its history. They created the Association for the Museum of Urban, Interurban, and Rural Transport (AMTUIR). They pooled their resources to purchase tram number 1 from Versailles when the network was closed on March 16, 1957."
