Description

The Nockebybanan in Stockholm evolved from tram line 12 and now terminates as a feeder to the Tunnelbana (metro) at Alvik station, where the Tvärbanan light rail line 22 also terminates.

Tvärbanan (the Cross-Train) is a tram line in Stockholm,
operated by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL). The track is largely separated from the streets, and only in Gröndal does it run in the street. This is why the Tvärbana has right-hand traffic, while other rail vehicles in Sweden drive on the left. The trams are Bombardier Flexity Swift and are classified as the A32 series. Each tram has space for 221 passengers and can be coupled with other trams of the same type.

Construction of the line began in 1996. Since 2000, the Tvärbana has operated between Gullmarsplan and Liljeholmen, later followed by extensions from Liljeholmen to Alvik and, in 2002, from Gullmarsplan to Sickla udde. Today, the Tvärbana offers many connections to other railways.
