Tramway Esslingen-Nellingen-Denkendorf and Reutlingen, vintage tram (2012)Esslingen - Nellingen - Denkendorf The 6 km long tram line from Esslingen to Denkendorf was opened on December 18, 1926. It wound its way up the Zollberg hill, overcoming an elevation difference of approximately 130 meters. The second section to Neuhausen opened in 1929. Shortly after their 50th anniversary, both lines were closed in 1978. We bring this tramway back to life in its charming rural setting and present it in previously unreleased footage. We have also managed to integrate film footage from the 1920s into this film. For fans of historical tramway footage, this film is a feast for the eyes. Reutlingen Electric trams have been running in this city near the Swabian Alps since 1912. The network reached its greatest extent in the mid-1960s, with a track length of 19.5 km. Until its closure on October 19, 1974, tramcars from the early years of the railway were still in operation. Only a few film recordings exist of this fascinating tramway operation.
