Carl Henrik rides the Tvärbana (2012)Metro took a test ride on the Tvärbana with Carl Henrik Linder.
We are now testing the new Tvärbana here, which means that everyone traveling from Arvika to Solna will no longer need to go into town to change trains. This is especially beneficial for trams like these, which have a good capacity and attract motorists to use public transportation. It is a fantastic means of transport thanks to its track efficiency. They fill the gap in capacity between buses and metro trains. That’s why they are expanding the Tvärbana, especially where the tram is most useful, such as in the inner city. They are also planning to build a road from Ropsten to Djurgårdsbron, connecting the current tram system, which will benefit the new Norra Djurgårdsstaden district. Now, the tram will reach this new residential area from the start. The trend has reversed since the 1960s; then, trams were phased out, but now they are being rebuilt, and there is considerable interest in having them. It takes time to develop these systems, but progress is happening, and there’s a clear desire to continue. This appears to be working well in Europe, where new systems are inaugurated almost every month, often exceeding ridership expectations by more than 20%. That’s one of the reasons why the tram is a much better option than buses or subways. Which track? Track seven. How many test runs have you done? Around ten times. Okay. We are now driving all the way to the city center. Yes, and now it’s shorter.By MetroSverige - .

Tvärbanan Solna-Sundbyberg (2017)We travel with the Tvärbanan from Solna station to the center of Sundbyberg. We also observe the stations along the line and the trams as they pass through various locations.
Some films showing trams running in the other direction (towards Solna station) are also included.
The cross line, the section Alvik-Solna centrum, opened in 2013. The section Solna centrum-Solna station opened in 2014.
Next Solna Centrum, with access to the underground blue line and buses. Next is Solna Business Park. Sundbybergs Centrum is then connected to the underground blue line, commuter trains, and buses.By Mats Ormhed - .
