Düsseldorf tram - trams on Elisabethstraße (2012)At the time of the recording, Rheinbahn Düsseldorf trams (lines 703, 706, 712, and 713) were running above ground on Elisabethstrasse. Coming from the old town, Elisabethstrasse is only used in the direction of Bilk; the route in the opposite direction runs parallel to Friedrichstrasse.
At the time of the recording, construction work was underway in this area, parallel to the above-ground operation on the underground Wehrhahn line, which begins at Bilk S-Bahn station and ends at Wehrhahn S-Bahn station. Some construction sites can also be seen above ground, for example, the ramp in Bilk. The above-ground route shown in the film will no longer be used after the Wehrhahn line opens in 2014; instead, the underground lines U71, U72, and U73 run there.
The film shows vehicles of the types NF6, NF10, and NF8U, some in double traction.
