Tram in Lund (2024)
7:33
Tram in Lund (2024)In this video, I ride the tram in Lund and share some information about it, as well as my thoughts on the experience. Hello and welcome to Lund. Today, we’re going to take the tram that goes here to the University Hospital, also known as ESS. Let’s get started. The tram begins to move, initially rolling slowly over cobblestone streets. When it turns to the right, the track itself takes about 15 minutes to reach ESS, which is approximately 5 kilometers away. The trams are CAF Urbos 100 models, which can also be found in Oslo as SL1. We pass Tsärgata, and the Banvallen transitions from cobblestone to grass, a change that continues for the rest of the route. The first stop is the University Hospital. The trams resemble coaches—they attempt to resemble traditional trams. A boring part of this trip was the rain, which cleared up just as the rain, wind, and wet conditions made filming difficult. I usually film every third or fourth video, especially during a tram tour, and I don’t want to get wet. When we pass the E22 highway, I try to film, but my camera acts up. I only managed to get a little of the E22, which is the route I took from Gothenburg to Malmö on the local bus. I also paid tribute to Lund's tramway from that point. The rest of the journey is quick and quite pleasant. I think the trams are a bit too quiet and modern for my taste, but they do their job. It’s actually quite lovely to glide through Lund's different districts, passing near Brunö Square. When the tram approaches more populated areas, the buildings start to end, giving way to forests and plains. Here, it feels more like Uppsala than Lund, but since both cities are roughly the same age with similar histories, it's not surprising that they share many similarities. However, Uppsala doesn't have a tramway—maybe they’re considering it, I don't know. I’ve also noticed that UL and Skånetrafiken use the same Swedish system for their buses, marked green—yay for consistency. As the tram approaches the sixth stop at ESS, it's time to prepare to get off and reflect on the trip. Yes, we took the tram to ESS. The ride took about 15 minutes and cost the same as a city ticket in Skånetrafiken. I don't remember the exact price—I'll check later. What do you think? Do you agree with Lund’s decision to build this tram? Would you like to see more tram routes expanded in Lund? Feel free to comment; I’d love to hear your thoughts on this type of construction project. In the distance, we see the Vagnhallen. If you'd like to see more, subscribe—occasional reports about smaller trams will be available. Please enjoy the video and consider supporting me on Patreon. We’ll see you next time. Bye-bye.By David Broman - .

LundaExpressen The new tram in Lund (2024)The tram system in Lund opened in 2020, making it the newest addition among four Swedish cities now served by trams. This is the latest tram, running from Lund C to ESS. Chapters: 0:00 First station ESS 1:04 On the tram 2:18 Departure 3:07 Max IV 3:48 Brunnshögstorget 5:04 Ideontorget next to our hotel 5:30 LTH 6:14 University Hospital 6:33 Lund Central Station 7:02 Clemenstorget Welcome to a windy Skåne, or Lund to be more precise, today. Are we going to take the Lunda Express from Es to Lund C? So come on. This is what the Lunda Express looks like from a little closer. We'll take a short trip along the side. As you can see, it's a windy day in Skåne today at the end of July. However, I'm going to do that anyway, as I'm taking several trains today, starting with the Lund Express, as I mentioned. This is what it looks like from this side. But we'll board the train and go. I'll go. You see, the carriage resembles this one, built in 2020. So it's not very old. Look, it's nice here. I think I'll find a good seat on the way down to Lund C. What should I do there? Yes, I'm going to take a train to Malmö, but that's another story. Then we'll drive to the station. It will probably take about fifteen minutes. We'll go down here. The tickets seem to be from Skånetrafiken. You buy them there first, and then you blink. It's like SL, unfortunately, I have to say, with some bad windows through which I take pictures. It should have some cover, so it's quiet. When I went up here, the carriage was full. Now we're heading downtown—nice details, including USB chargers, with a maximum of four at a time. The next station is here. No one wanted to get on. We cross an open field where they’re doing a lot of building. If you see, next is Brunnshögstorget. The disadvantage of new trams like this is that you can't open the windows to film outside, as I did yesterday in Brösarp. There are many newly built houses, as well as numerous offices and companies. At Station Solbjer, several people are signing up for a telephone plan. The next station is Ideontorget. This is where our hotel, Hotel Ideum, is located. We see the tall building up there on the ninth floor. We don't have as many people going down to the station as we used to—of course, now that we have USB chargers. You can see we're starting to approach the station. This is the University Hospital, excuse me, and here is the stop for the tram heading down to Lund, located at Clemenstorget. Yep, that was a ride with Lunda Expressen. Now, can you check out some other movies? I have a lot to watch. Hey n.By R.K.M.A - .

Tram trip with line 1 in Lund (2024)Join us on a journey through the university town of Lund in Skåne. This journey goes from ESS (European Spallation Source) to Lund C through MAX IV, Ideontorget and the University Hospital. Some facts about the tram network in Lund. The tram line in Lund was inaugurated on December 12, 2020 and runs by the letter L1. The letter is unfortunately based on the Urbos 100 model manufactured by the Spanish train manufacturer CAF. Examples of trams that they have manufactured are the L1 in Lund, the A35/A35B on the Spårväg City and Tvärbanan lines and the A36 which runs on the Lidingöbanan line. The trams have names like the C20 in Stockholm. List of names for the trams: Saxo Grammaticus, Blåtand, Åsa-Hanna, Sfinxen, Brandklipparen, Inferno, LindemanBy Mr. CX 1384 - .

Light rail for Gladsaxe part 2 - Lund (2021)
2:31
Light rail for Gladsaxe part 2 - Lund (2021)I visited Lund and its new light rail, which opened in May 2021. In Gladsaxe and Copenhagen, the Ring 3 light rail is set to open in 2025, and I would like to learn more about the potential benefits of light rail for the cities and urban life. The video is a follow-up to my visit to Bergen 4 years ago on the occasion of the municipal elections. Four years ago, I was in Bergen, Norway. To tell a little about light rail. And tell why the light rail in Ring 3 should finally be adopted. That happened in 2018, and now I've gone to Lund (Sweden). To look at their newly opened light rail and to see what it can do for their local city. What do you think of the light rail here in Lund? It's really cool. However, there are some differences between the light rail here in Lund and the one that will run through Gladsaxe on Ring 3. It still tells a little about what awaits after 2025. When we get to the other side of the extensive construction work. One thing is to build the light rail itself. Another notable feature is the forecourts at all the stations. In Gladsaxe, we have prioritized 25 million DKK for a new and upgraded version of Ring 3, benefiting all residents. You are only confirmed in how important it is to have a green expression - When you stand here in Lund - and see what they have done to make their new urban space attractive. The light rail can do more than the buses that run today. A light rail can have as many passengers as 3-4 city buses. And thus you can future-proof the capacity for public transport - along Ring 3. That is also the reason why the light rail should not be fully loaded from day one - it must be able to handle the needs for many years to come. Many have been concerned about the view of the light rail's overhead wires. But I actually think they have solved it very well here in Lund. And it doesn't seem that different from what we are used to along the sidewalks. Part of that story also includes the fact that the heavier battery-powered light rail has a longer travel time; however, it also has a greater climate impact because the batteries have a relatively short lifespan, and during production, they emit something as well. Overall, the trip to Lund shows that the light rail is more than just public transportation. It is also a way to create new and more inviting urban spaces that give something back to the citizens. Now I am even more looking forward to the light rail opening in 2025!By Jakob Skovgaard Koed - .

It would be fun if they came back, as they do in Stockholm with Spårväg City line 7. Nockebybanan and Lidingöbanan are also in Stockholm as suburban tram lines. Helsingborg is planning a new tram line. Tvärbanan in Stockholm runs the same type of trams as Nockebybanan, which you might have forgotten. Digital inauguration - Tramway Lund (2020)Now it is finally time to inaugurate the long-awaited trams in Lund. Join us on a journey along the track with Johan Wester and guests. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the grand opening of the tramway in Lund. Due to the pandemic, instead of the planned ceremony at Clemenstorget, we are now holding a digital opening. We are at the depot at the end of Brunnshög, where all the trams are stationed—Inferno, Åsa-Hanna, Brandklipparen, Sfinxen... They are all waiting here to run on Lund's streets. Before we begin, I have two guests who will share their thoughts, ideas, anecdotes, and facts: Pernilla von Strokirch and Håkan Henmyr. Welcome! Thank you both for being here. To those of you who have come as much as possible, thank you. Pernilla, representin Lund Municipality, and Håkan from Skånetrafiken. -How are you feeling today? -It's exciting to get the traffic moving. -It must be a remarkable experience. -We've been working on this for a long time. Håkan, you're used to launching new routes at Skånetrafiken, but the tram is a new venture. Yes, it’s special—almost historic for Sweden. It's fantastic. But first, we’ll have a proper inauguration, without pomp and orchestras, but something still quite special. I thought we'd take a trip along the route, pick up people, and meet folks at the stops. Eventually, we’ll probably have a ribbon-cutting inside at Clemenstorget. -What do you think? -That sounds wonderful. Let’s go! Lund - ESS. Welcome, gentlemen. As a passenger... you’ve been waiting here for a while, but now we are at ESS... -Yes. -The final stop in this... The weather’s changing a lot during this recording. Alf, as the region's top official, why is public transport so crucial? Mainly because in Skåne, we have a multi-centered system, which broadens the labor market. "Multi-centered system"—for those unfamiliar... -There are many places—33 municipalities and numerous towns. -Public transit and trains act like our subway, letting the labor market operate smoothly, so people can live in one place, work elsewhere, and enjoy leisure in a third. Christian, tell me... we talked about attractiveness... I have a feeling about what will happen here, but now it’s fields and woods—and a lovely old mill. Can you tell me what’s going on? We aim to create a space where people can meet. Our main focus is to give visitors, especially those doing research at the facilities, a different experience. -So, it’s a complement. -And their friends and relatives... So friends, family, and visitors can... -Tourists, I imagine. -We sincerely hope so. -What kind of buildings do you see, and where are they? -We'll start with a very public building, soon to be built, a meeting place—a large concert hall... -Is that The Loop? -Yes. -And where is it? -It’s there. -In the fog. -In the fog... but soon it will be clear and visible, and it will mark the start of this journey... It will host large conferences and meetings, and... It’s a regional project too. Exactly. There was a good vibe here. -Now, let’s move on... -..."Cut off your tie.” No... We’ll see... Håkan and Pernilla are helping with part of the inauguration. -Are you reusing it? -Yes. Now, let’s do the official opening. -But you're a scientist? -You might say that. -Engineer? -A bit of both. Everyone is cutting here, and you're syncing this. -One, two, three. -Thank you! Now we're heading to the next stop. -Thank you so much. It’s been great having you here. Goodbye! See you later. For those familiar with the tram, could you drive... -...one meter? -No, I don't think so. -Can't you do anything? -No... well, not drive. Lund University Hospital—good day! -Hello! Good day! -Are you doing the usual greeting? -Yes. -The incoming rector. -That's right. Is this your first official assignment? It's not really official, maybe... It's very unofficial, but I'm jumping ahead. Considering your medical background, what kind of discipline are you? I'm a physician at heart. Internal medicine and diabetes are my specialties. -Diabetes is one of Lund's key areas. -Indeed. One of many, I’d say. You’re connected to... This is a large workplace. Is it true it’s the biggest in Skåne? It might be, yes. This is an important part of the tramway—many people will get on and off. Patients, healthcare workers... It extends towards facilities of great interest to the university—and I see many collaborations developing between them—and for example, the healthcare sector.By Skånetrafiken - .
