This video was made during my sixteenth visit to Košice. Over half of the city's entire tram routes were under reconstruction in the summer of 2015 and were thus used as rail replacement services. The three remaining shortened tram lines 3, 4, and 9, therefore, had to turn centrally via stump crossings, which were done using "climbing switches". For this reason, KT8D5 and the partially low-floor KT8D5.RN2 was used exclusively on the city lines. The interurban route to the steelworks was served entirely by the new Vario LF2+ vehicles. These one-way vehicles could not use a turning loop on the city side due to their use on the R1 line and therefore turned around at the large Bardejovska/Alejova track crossing. At the time of the visit, 19 of the 28 Vario LF2+ had been delivered, and 14 were already in use. For the first time in 52 years of tram service in Košice, no T3SUCS were in use. These cars have recently been massively decommissioned!By KT4Dani - - .
