Braunschweig Tram - Tours with the new museum car Tw41 (2025)Braunschweig: The Tw41 museum car is now in motion!
A bit of tram-tram, a bit of clack-clack – after 17 years of hibernation, the new Tw41 museum car of the Braunschweiger Interessengemeinschaft Nahverkehr (BIN) is now ready for use and fully functional in its delivery paintwork "Turquoise-Inca."
The car, delivered by Duewag and built in 1973, was in regular service with the then Braunschweiger Verkehrs-AG until 2007 under the number Tw7356.
To mark its recommissioning, the public was invited to take part in general tours on the warm spring weekend of April 26 and 27, 2025.
The tours led from the main station towards Inselwall via Campestraße and back – with a longer detour via Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz along the old Braunschweig station to the operating line at Lessingplatz.
The video focuses on the return journey, from Inselwall via Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz to the main train station as the final destination.
Braunschweig currently resembles a single construction site – it feels like there are construction fences and containers on every corner. I tried to avoid this as much as possible while filming.
The vehicle is now available for special tours. The association is always happy to receive donations to preserve the historic vehicles – the fact that the Tw41 is running again today is solely thanks to the commitment of its members and the support of donations.
With the kind support of the Braunschweiger Interessengemeinschaft Nahverkehr e.V. (Braunschweig Local Transport Interest Group) – special thanks to David Köhler, who provided me with numerous information and checked it for accuracy / BSVGBy KameraMarlon - .
