The night lines were discontinued from 11 April 1940 to 15 March 1952. On 3 November 1958, the night trams were replaced by diesel buses.

Prescription envelope: Copenhagen night line E at Brønshøj (1995)Night line E served Brønshøj as a tram from 29 November 1938 to 11 April 1940, and again from 15 March 1952 to 3 November 1958, when night service became purely bus service. Later, the night line letter designations were changed to line numbers with 900 in front, thus line E became 905. In addition to the usual colored line lanterns, the night trams had red destination signs and blue front lanterns.

The old trams were completely withdrawn from service from 1 May 1966, and most ended their days in a blazing bonfire at the landfill in Sydhavnen. A few have been preserved, and it is still possible to experience a ride on an old tram at the Skjoldenæsholm Tram Museum.
Line 2 was "busified" on 19 October 1969.

Last day of Trams in Copenhagen (1972)Filmed by Finn Erik Larsen. Remember, I'm the most important because I'm the driver of the carriage. It turns by itself when the track makes a turn. I'm the one who decides when we stop and when we go. Sorry, I woke you up because it's me who says ding, so just don't be arrogant. Thank you. You're just a clown who will never be on this carriage again. Oh crap, there's always a tram and a girl for my rank as a carriage animal, and you can never get on. I think I'll get on even more. It sounds exciting for the passenger I ride with the girl in the forest. That sounds right. But you never get that now. A girl, there's always a girl, a tram, a girl, a tram, a girl for pride. I stand for everyone's gaze, like a gallant figure. Yes. And when they see you, they immediately look the other way. HP Sørensen stands with me every time he drives the ride. But the pretty girls always come around to me. Look, there she is, with the shape; she waves from a balcony. There she stood in front of the platform. So, there's always a tram and a girl for you. Then the girl must put the ladder on. He's jealous of the little one now. And remember, it's me who's standing at the wheel of the carriage. Now the tram is steering straight. Circus Mie for us two is done. And what will you do then? There's always a tram, a girl, a tram, a girl, a tram. I've become a symbol on line 8. It's a good thing—you can see for yourself. You're a bit crazy; you've soon turned the whole line into an anecdote. Poor thing, you can hear you were only born to be a conductor. I do everything with flying colors. Yes, maybe on song. Hans, a man like me, can always get a chance. There's always a track and a girl for one of the parts; you have to let yourself go. No, both parts get tired of you. Ah, if I want, then it's just a word, and Eva says no. No jumps, Dny and Sofie, then the carriage drives express from heaven to. There's always a girl, a tram, a girl, an SP carriage, a girl too.

The line 2 carriage is a newly delivered German-built articulated carriage, it is believed that the line 7 carriage consists of a bogie motor carriage from the 1930s and a scrappy carriage from the 1940s.By Henrik Boye, Sporvejshistorisk Selskab (SHS) - .

Prescription envelope: Copenhagen tram line 5 with railcar 448 (1993)Due to World War II, the construction of the popular bogie type had to be stopped and in 1942 the first scrap cars came onto the streets on lines 2 and 5. The cars were called "spare cars" or "swingpjatter" because of their somewhat rocking ride. Line 5 earned the charming nickname "lortevognen" because of the yellow-brown line color.
