Here, you can switch between the metro on the outer tracks and the Nockebybanan tramway in the middle. The Nockebybanan turns here, and the tram now proceeds forward for boarding. The metro here was originally a suburban tramway from 1944 to 1952, but it was converted into a metro in 1952. The tram type A32 is a Flexity Swift model from Bombardier. In a previous video, we filmed the tram from the other platform; the link is at the end of the video. The tram now departs towards Nockeby—it's a metro train on the green line heading south toward the inner city. Then, a metro train from the turning track in Alvik is waiting to arrive at the platform. There are two turning tracks here for the metro.
Brommadepån, for parking trams and buses (now museum buses). The metro tracks next to us continue toward Hässelby Strand. The next stop on the Nockebybanan is Alléparken. Note that the tram here operates on a left-hand traffic system. This allows for platform changes in Alvik with the metro, which also has left-hand traffic. However, even though the tram runs on its own embankment toward Nockeby, here you switch to right-hand traffic. That's why the tram now crosses over a crossing. We'll take a closer look at it. On the other side of the railway crossing, the tram departs the stop toward Alvik. At the crossing, the traffic direction shifts from right-hand to left-hand traffic. The next stop is the final stop in Alvik. Link above to a previous video about the Nockeby Line in Alvik. In the following video, we explore the second final stop of the Nockeby Line in Nockeby. Station Alvik, Stockholm, tram on Nockebybanan (2025)Station Alvik, Stockholm, tram on Nockebybanan. This is the junction where the metro's green line meets the trams Tvärbanan and Nockebybanan. The metro runs on outer tracks, while Nockebybanan switches onto the tracks in the middle. Here, a Nockeby tram arrives to turn around. Passengers on the tram can easily transfer to the metro platform for the city center. Then, the tram driver shifts direction to move onto the opposite track. At the same time, metro passengers heading toward the inner city can conveniently switch to the tram bound for Nockeby. Although it's actually the tram's scheduled departure, the tram driver waits a few seconds as a metro train is arriving. This allows a few more passengers to transfer from the platform onto the tram. Once boarding and alighting are complete, both the tram and metro typically depart the station simultaneously. The tram then crosses the viaduct over the metro track to continue on the Nockebybanan. The Lidingö Line starts over the Lilla Lidingö Bridge (2024)Now, the Lidingö Line runs the entire length between Ropsten and Gåshaga jetty. Traffic over the Lilla Lidingö bridge began on Sunday, May 26, 2024, almost five years after the start of bridge construction. The following morning, representatives from Lidingö City and SL held the inaugural tour over the Lilla Lidingö bridge.
Today, we're officially opening the Lidingö Line with a proper inauguration, and now you can travel all the way from Gåshaga to Ropsten. It truly feels like it's about time. Commuting will be much easier because I no longer have to go all the way to Gåshaga, where I previously took replacement buses, which made the trip a bit boring. It used to take about an hour, maybe 30 minutes less before. Finally, the bridge is open to everyone. Yes, there have been some delays, but it is now finally operational. We in politics are incredibly grateful that the residents of Lidingö have been so patient. It means a lot that they no longer have to stand and wait in the cold at the bus stop all winter. Of course, we are now reintegrating into Stockholm in a positive way, which is very good for the residents of Lidingö. Everything went well after lengthy negotiations, discussions with technicians, and a constructive dialogue. Ultimately, we found a solution, and it is now operational. That’s very encouraging. Our top priority has always been to ensure that travelers have a solution as quickly as possible. So today is a day of joy. Overall, we are very pleased with the well-functioning bridge, which is wide enough to accommodate bicycles, pedestrians, and public transportation. It was built within the budget, which is fortunate; although it’s a little late, it's still on schedule. This is a significant milestone for the project, and it feels gratifying to see it work, knowing we can now travel the entire route without interruption. Travelers no longer need to change before everything is fully completed. We will soon remove the old piles from the previous bridge and then hand over the project to our team.By Lidingö stad - .

The Lidingö Line starts at Ropsten metro station in Stockholm. It crosses the Lilla Lidingö Bridge over to Lidingö, which is its own town. It then heads south past AGA, Käppala, and finally reaches Gåshaga Brygga. We are standing at Ropsten, and far beyond, a tram is coming from Lidingö. To the right is the high-level road bridge for cars, and between them is the old Lidingö Bridge, which is being demolished. It was filmed on May 26, 2024, the opening day for trams on the new Lilla Lidingö Bridge. The old Lidingö Bridge was built in 1925; before that, there were several floating bridges. The four-section tram, designated as A36, is 39.5 meters long and has 100 seats. This is what it looks like at the stop in Ropsten when a tram arrives to turn around. The speaker: - To Gåshaga brygga. The water between Lidingö and Stockholm, part of the Baltic Sea, is called Lilla Värtan. The area to the right in Stockholm is called Värtahamnen. Speaker: - Next Torsvik. Many parts of the Lidingö Line are single track; Torsvik is one of the stations where trains meet. We continue with the next tram from Torsvik. The view over Lilla Värtan is beautiful; on the other side, Silja Line has a terminal for Finnish ferries. We are approaching AGA, a large industry that played a major role in building the Lidingö Line. The Lidingö Line depot is also here. We have gotten off and are looking at the depot from a distance. We leave AGA and continue. Speaker: - Next Högberga. The signal at the end of the platform shows red. On the meeting track in Högberga, trams pass each other. The signal turns green when the other tram has passed and the switch has been changed. Then it turns red again when the tram departs for its route. This tram continues toward Ropsten. We pass Käppalaverket, a sewage treatment plant. Speaker: - Next Gåshaga bridge, last stop. Thank you for coming here. Finally, we will look out over the inlet to Stockholm. On the other side is Nacka.By See Stockholm around - .

A30/B30 på Nockebybanan (2023)For those of you who may have missed riding the Nockeby Line between April 24th and May 15th, it is actually the A30/B30 that was in action, partly because the A35 on the Tvärbanan was taken out of service due to brake failure and there were not many A32s on the Nockeby Line at that time, they were running with both the A30 304 and B30 604 in service to accommodate more people and strollers on board.
The maneuvering vehicle B30 604 is rented from the Spårvägssällskapet in Sörmland / Malmköping and was driven here in Stockholm, until they managed to fix the brakes on the A35 Tram.
The A30 Tram 304 is the Motor Car and is used to remove frost from the catenary when there are frosty winter nights, then they are run on the Nockeby Line on special days.

06:24 Returning to the center of Stockholm
Today, we ride Stockholm's historic tram line 7N Djurgårdslinjen. Enjoy the trip! Hello! We are in front of the Dramaten, Sweden's most prestigious theater, waiting for a tram that isn't this one. By the way, the Dramaten was founded in 1788 and has been housed in this 'Art Nouveau' style building since 1908. This tram is similar to the one we expect, but in the opposite direction. Here, we see a bus from Line 7, similar to the tram line, which I believe offers a similar tour. And right on time, a modern tram from line 7 arrives. After a long wait, here it is! It doesn't happen often, so some patience is needed. OK, let's go! Starting from the Nybroplan stop, we first cross Strandvägen, known as the 'Coast Street,' a prominent boulevard in the city center. Beautiful views, aren't they? Along its route, this line, run by volunteers, makes several stops until it reaches Djurgården, a lovely island with various attractions, including the famous Vasa Museum. The tram platform also functions as a bus lane.
How the tram moves! I love it! Now we cross the Djurgårdsbron bridge; we'll talk about him later. Being able to sit behind the driver is truly a privilege. I enjoy watching how he operates the tram. I have a vision almost identical to his. This unique line runs on the same tracks as regular Stockholm trams. And it's wonderful to see modern convoys full of people—past and future together. The parks are lush, and it's already summer when I recorded this video. I get the sense that Stockholm has many green areas. It’s amazing. The interior is detailed, and it perfectly reflects its history. Almost no detail is missing. I need to see what this little plate says… At the stops, some people are surprised—they don't recognize this tram. If you're lucky enough to ride in less crowded carriages, it's a great experience. Traveling with him, you enjoy both the journey and the views. On Djurgården island, you can find many beautiful houses from earlier times, as well as the Vasa Museum, Rosendal Palace, the ABBA Museum, Gröna Lund amusement park—the oldest in Sweden—and Skansen, the world’s oldest open-air museum, which showcases traditional Swedish architecture and also has a zoo. I don't speak Swedish, but the translator says the sign reads: "The driver does not change amounts greater than 5 kroner." Currently, a single ticket costs 39 crowns, and if you buy it on board tram line 7—where possible—it costs 54 crowns.
The engineer is taking a break; let's have a look at his controls. Here we find the regulator, which is used to control the gear change and the tram’s speeds, as well as the brake handlebar or steering wheel. Do you know what the remaining elements are for? Share your thoughts in the comments. We set off again. Some stops have poles like this one, which display information about the tram's route on a liquid crystal screen, making them very useful for this purpose. At this other stop, by the way, we see a pole that is not from the SL company, which is responsible for public transportation in Stockholm, but from Djurgårdslinjen. This is the 7N line we are riding.
Mainly owned by the non-profit association Svenska Spårvägsällskapet. Hello and goodbye, current tram line 7! Returning to the city center, to Nybroplan, we cross the Djurgårdsbron bridge again. This beautiful structure was built for the World's Fair in 1897 and connects the mainland of the Östermalm neighborhood with the island of Djurgården. The tour concludes by retracing this canal and the Strandvägen boulevard. And look at the grand buildings on the right. I have loved this trip in the past in a city as beautiful as Stockholm. Oh! And from the Nybroplan stop, public transport ferries depart. I will ride! Thank you for watching the video, and thank you to the tram for transporting us. If you enjoyed this trip, please consider liking and subscribing. :) See you next time!By Point of Trips - .
Stockholm. Tram City, and Djurgårdslinjen at Nybroplan, A35B from CAF (2022)Stockholm, Hamngatan, October 2022. Here, the City tram runs between Djurgården and the City, called Waldemarsudde and T-Centralen, respectively. It was first built as a museum tram, inaugurated on June 2, 1991. It initially operated a shorter route between Norrmalmstorg and Djurgården. Interestingly, a museum tram now operates here, although it doesn't run on weekdays. This year, the museum operates on Saturdays and Sundays, with enhanced service during the summer and on special occasions. The Swedish Tram Association runs the museum as a volunteer service. This service, called Djurgårdslinjen with route number 7N, was extended toward the City with a short addition, starting regular service on August 21, 2010. The line is named Spårväg City and has route number 7. Now, modern trams of the same type as those on Tvärbanan are in operation. The investment was necessary for expansion towards future residential areas, but funding has been lacking, and other track extensions have been prioritized.
Passenger interchange occurred at the Nybroplan stop in both directions. The tram is widely used for traveling to various attractions on Djurgården, including Skansen, Vasamuseet, ABBA The Museum, Gröna Lund's Tivoli, and more. The trams are manufactured by the Spanish company CAF. They are a variant of the Urbos AXL model, known as A35B in Stockholm. It is a two-way articulated tram, measuring 30.8 meters in length and 2.65 meters in width, with an interior view of the tram type featuring recessed elements. Initially, the trams were Bombardier Flexity Swift, as shown in the inset image. The regular trams go straight here; the museum trams turn around the block to the right. The new Lidingö Line from the inside (2015)Follow two of Stockholm's Spårvägar employees as they share their impressions, experiences, and knowledge of the new Lidingö Line, which reopened on October 24, 2015.
There are many laps at the end, but it's always different every day, I would say, because the weather is always changing. You constantly meet other people who ride with us. Most people who live out here commute daily, so you get to know some of them. Different things can also happen on the track. It's a small company, so the atmosphere among colleagues and managers is charming, and there's always a good vibe when you come to work. The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting all the travelers, from ordinary people just on their way to and from work to those heading to meet friends or tourists visiting local attractions. To start the cart, we must activate the alcohol lock, which requires approval before proceeding. This safety feature is designed to protect both our staff and travelers.
Many travelers appreciate the service and treatment they receive; we hear about it, and that's the best part of the job - knowing you're doing a good job and making a positive impact. I often think about how I would drive the tram myself. I don't usually daydream, but I focus on driving as well as I can and challenge myself to give passengers the best experience possible. I also try to add a little extra, like wishing people a nice day. It really helps if there are delays on the track and you have to catch up with the schedule. It can be a positive type of stress that motivates you to stay upbeat and work with the traffic route, especially if you need to turn somewhere. Sometimes I get stressed at work when there are many people, feeling as if I'm alone on the tram. For example, over 100 people may board at Ropsten, and I need to check all of them before the first stop. That can be a little stressful, but then I remind myself to handle the situation professionally and not let it get out of control. It often happens that people stop, the tram keeps the door open, and a friend might be waiting inside, which feels like a minor inconvenience. Many probably think that's just 30 seconds, and we can wait, but 30 seconds easily stretches to a minute, and a minute to two, and then delays ripple through the entire line. All the vehicles end up leaving a minute or two behind schedule.
My favorite town would probably be Gåshaga Bridge. It's always lovely to visit. It's very nice by the water, with a relaxed, peaceful vibe. It’s especially great when you have ten minutes to spare. This afternoon, it’s perfect as I head down from the Baggeby stop. I can drive at 80 km/h, which is the top speed. As you pass along the mountainside, the water opens up, and you see the bridge, offering a stunning view as you drive quickly. It’s a great combination. Usually, when I'm about to finish my last shift for the day, it catches me by surprise when I look at the clock and realize, "Oh, I'm stopping now. I hadn't thought about it.” Most days go smoothly, and I enjoy my work. I love it so much that I don't want to think about finally quitting, but I know there's more. Yeah, I'm stopping now. Eh, okay. It feels great. Have a good time at work, you.By Thomas Lange - .

Yes, you're coming now. You can't drive on the beeping road, waiting for the green. I'll press a button in Gothenburg, but it didn't work. I need to stand here, try to get a good drive, and change the road. Drive again; my lady is better now. The Jär Södra Ban was fixed; the Norra Ban turned off at the bridge. This is a direct VAG route. I jumped at the last second, took a lucky last-minute chance. Drive, even if it doesn't look hopeful. The way back is excellent. The camera battery is off; I’ll find the right person. Drive here with automatic controls, except SK. We'll see. Switch Li. Meet on the way.
Yes, the switch is off if that's the case. Please do it. Excuse me. Yes, it is BL seats here, LED, so that it could be good here. Meet on V Way. Petrus, do you have a stamp for both of them? Or a new one. It says 'posted' and 'Southern Liding.' The track, no, I don't know if they had the original. Did anyone want to get off here? It looks that way, but it's nice. They had other mailboxes before the post office came and collected them. Did you have special emptiers that are now empty? It's underway, departing from the AG station via NV, heading northeast. K drives, see? RK should drive now, like V and Rusta up B St. The new Green Skärsätra came in January 1915. It’s longer, with a new stop at Särä in 2000. Is there a sign of something here? Seems like it. Drive now. K, H, drive a little; much has changed with K, ST, and Kart drives. I talk a lot. V was one of the cities, along with Gans, in the 1900s, where people would queue for animals. In Brevik, some properties are more notable, such as the factory in Aga and Gåshaga. Now, no one goes at all.
There was no one like Jade today, which was very strange. We thought testing the new lines would be good, but the V drive was not available. We arrived at Kar station, a busy area from the 1960s and 1970s, with approximately 1,100 daily boardings. The track joint is for the primary signal. Erik was worried because the train drove up to the railing yesterday, possibly due to the first, shorter axle. He was very concerned, especially about derailment. Someone mentioned not to say no to a wagon, and there was talk of a stop in Talludden. The boom has gone to VK, but that's W.By All the Elevators! - By SummerADDE - - .

Carl Henrik rides the Tvärbana (2012)Metro took a test ride on the Tvärbana with Carl Henrik Linder.
We are now testing the new Tvärbana here, which means that everyone traveling from Arvika to Solna will no longer need to go into town to change trains. This is especially beneficial for trams like these, which have a good capacity and attract motorists to use public transportation. It is a fantastic means of transport thanks to its track efficiency. They fill the gap in capacity between buses and metro trains. That’s why they are expanding the Tvärbana, especially where the tram is most useful, such as in the inner city. They are also planning to build a road from Ropsten to Djurgårdsbron, connecting the current tram system, which will benefit the new Norra Djurgårdsstaden district. Now, the tram will reach this new residential area from the start. The trend has reversed since the 1960s; then, trams were phased out, but now they are being rebuilt, and there is considerable interest in having them. It takes time to develop these systems, but progress is happening, and there’s a clear desire to continue. This appears to be working well in Europe, where new systems are inaugurated almost every month, often exceeding ridership expectations by more than 20%. That’s one of the reasons why the tram is a much better option than buses or subways. Which track? Track seven. How many test runs have you done? Around ten times. Okay. We are now driving all the way to the city center. Yes, and now it’s shorter.By MetroSverige - .

The time with the A30 on the Lidingöbanan is now coming to an end. Within a few years, all carriages of the A30 and B30 type will be discontinued and replaced by more modern carriages.
I will take some photos and film some along the Lidingöbanan during the spring and summer now before the A30 carriages disappear.
I will make similar films with the Saltsjöbanan and the Cx carriages in the subway. I will also try to include the X10.By X1rules1 - .

13-year-old Carl Henrik about the City Tram (2010)Carl Henrik, 13, is one of Europe's leading experts on trams. Here he is testing the new Spårväg City in Stockholm.
Yes, now I am at the newly built stop located on Sergels torg, and with me today is one of the biggest tram enthusiasts in Stockholm, Karl Henrik. Now we will follow him on the tram; he will tell you a little about his interest in trams and how he became involved with them. Yes, follow along. These trams are rented from Norrköping and Frankfurt; Bombardier builds them. They are 32 meters long and can carry over 200 passengers. The trams can drive at most 80 km/h, but you usually drive about 30 km/h here. On Strandvägen, they can maybe go up to 40 or 50 km/h at most. The first tram line in Stockholm was a horse tram called the Djurgårdslinjen.
When they decided to build a museum tram in 1991, they retained the name, so it is now known as the Djurgårdslinjen. I’ve heard you’ve ridden trams in almost 50 countries—that’s right? Fifty cities? Yes, that's right. Good. I usually film and photograph these cities, so I have quite an extensive archive of images and videos from all of them. People often ask which country has the nicest trams. It’s hard to say. In Germany, they’ve rarely closed their tram systems, so they've stayed relatively consistent. In France, they closed their tram lines except in a city called Sonen, but now they’ve built new trams there, so they have modern trams like this elsewhere, too. It’s a tricky question. Here's what the driver's cab looks like. The driver uses just a lever—pull it forward to increase speed and pull back to brake. There are numerous buttons for opening doors and activating turn signals. You also have to change gears; you can press a button to shift gears when needed. Yes, you can change gears while driving. Oh, can you see yourself sitting and driving a tram for a couple of years? Yes, I’d do it in my free time, but maybe not with new trams like these. Though, of course, these will get old, so I’d probably drive ones like these then. But, yes. All that’s left now is to thank Karl Henrik for an incredibly educational half hour. Now, back to the stage.By Klgnhr - .

SL does not operate the services itself, but grants concessions to private companies such as Veolia Transport, Busslink and Swebus. As a result, SL itself only employs 500 people. The development function remains with SL and all vehicles are painted in the SL house style.
SL was originally the municipal transport company of Stockholm County. In the 1990s, the company was transformed into a public transport authority for the entire county.

Nockebybanan + Tvärbanan Stockholm (2005)The Nockebybanan in Stockholm evolved from tram line 12 and now terminates as a feeder to the Tunnelbana (metro) at Alvik station, where the Tvärbanan light rail line 22 also terminates.
Tvärbanan (the Cross-Train) is a tram line in Stockholm,
operated by Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL). The track is largely separated from the streets, and only in Gröndal does it run in the street. This is why the Tvärbana has right-hand traffic, while other rail vehicles in Sweden drive on the left. The trams are Bombardier Flexity Swift and are classified as the A32 series. Each tram can accommodate 221 passengers and can be coupled with other trams of the same type.
Construction of the line began in 1996. Since 2000, the Tvärbana has operated between Gullmarsplan and Liljeholmen, later extended to Alvik and, in 2002, to Sickla udde. Today, the Tvärbana offers many connections to other railways.By VideoFolke - - .
