Ticket coupon for HTM Personenvervoer N.V., the back (2003)This card allows you to travel on buses, trams, and metros within urban and regional transport, as well as on trains on certain routes. See the rail operator's publications for details.
For each journey, you stamp one strip for each zone you travel in, plus one additional strip for the basic fare. Transfers are permitted.
The validity period from the time the card is stamped is:
2 to 4 strips: 1 hour (1 to 3 zones)
5 to 7 strips: 1.5 hours (4 to 6 zones)
8 to 10 strips: 2 hours (7 to 9 zones)
11 to 16 strips: 3 hours (10 to 15 zones)
17 to 20 strips: 3.5 hours (16 and more zones)
After the validity period expires, you must stamp again, plus the additional strip (basic fare). The maximum number of stamped strips is 20.
If you run out of strips, first stamp the last strip on the used card. Then, continue counting on a new card and stamp again.
If you are traveling with more than one person on one card, stamp the required number of strips for each person (for each person, also stamp the extra strip for the basic fare).
Present this card upon inspection.
Only an undamaged card with the price is valid.
This strip card expires 12 months after the next fare change.
Exchanging a strip card, whether used or unused, is never possible, nor are refunds given.

- On buses, trams, and metros within urban and regional transport throughout the Netherlands.
- On trains (2nd class) within the urban transport areas of Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, and Zoetermeer, provided they are stamped in the relevant area.
Fares.
One additional strip (basic fare) is always required per journey than the number of zones. For the number of zones, see the information at the stop or consult the transport company brochures. Transfers are permitted.
Discounted fare usage.
Two passengers, both entitled to a reduced fare (children aged 4 to 11 and PAS 65 holders who can show their pass), can travel together at the full fare.
Validity from the time of stamping.
1 to 3 zones: 1 hour.
4 to 6 zones: 1.5 hours.
7 to 9 zones: 2 hours.
10 to 15 zones: 3 hours.
16 and more zones: 3.5 hours.
After the validity period has expired, a new stamp is required for the continuation of the journey.
How to use this card?
- Stamping with the driver.
Please give the unfolded card to the driver and state the number of zones to be traveled.
- Stamping in the machine.
a. Count one strip from top to bottom for each zone and then fold the card over.
b. Insert the folded card with the highest number at the top into the machine. The stamp will also validate strips with a lower number.
c. For each subsequent journey, start counting from the next strip that has not yet been stamped.
Are you running out of strips?
First stamp the last strip of the used card and continue counting on the new card. This can also be a different national strip card.
More people on one card?
That's possible.
First, stamp for one person, then count down the zones again, etc.
