Tram Museum in The Hague, open day (2014)

Tram Museum in The Hague, open day (2014)A great collection of old trams. Stay tuned for my next video about some vintage buses. Hello, everyone! Good morning. It's a quite sunny Saturday morning, and where are we? It's open day at the Tram and Transport Museum in The Hague. I filmed here a few years ago, but today we’re revisiting this small yet fascinating museum—featuring old Dutch trams, all the Hay trams. Let's find the entrance. Got something to celebrate? Party time, tram fun, right inside the tram. Here it is, with its big open doors. Good morning, sir. Silver buttons, the uniform of the tram conductor—let's explore the museum. The first thing you see when you walk in is the museum shop, filled with everything you'd want as a kid—small models, cards, books, postcards, photos. All kids have wanted a real conductor's uniform for a bus or tram, models of trams, pictures, and signs. There are new large-scale tram models and smaller ones, too. Ah, that’s the old horse tram from 1900—it’s still pulled by horses. Jump in, Mr. Mugs. Check out the old enamel tram stops—stop on request, so you have to hit the brakes, or you'll crash into the wall. Let’s go inside. Oh, look—a tram restaurant. It’s a newer model, very long, so many people can enjoy a nice dinner inside. We’re going to sneak a peek. Oh yeah, an inviting control panel. What do you think—clutch, brakes? Not sure how they work, but they look nice. Comfortable wooden benches and seats—perfect for summer trips to the beach resort of the Egg Shaving. Very simple instruments—actually, no instruments at all. That’s fine. Officially, these doors were closed, but here’s the driver's compartment—lots of wheels and controls, with a similar setup on the other side because it moves forward and backward. Not sure what's front or back, but it all looks the same. Ah, the bell for the stop—lots of brass, wood, and a great ding-ding. Suspension, too—this is a heavy-duty tram. Oops, this is just a quick look at this tram at the Tram and Transport Museum in The Hague during open days. Entry is free. See you in the next video. Bye-bye.By dutchurbanminer - .
