Tram journey on the route Palma - Sóller - Palma at Mallorca (2023)The Ferrocarril de Sóller (Railway of Sóller) is an interurban railway and the name of the company that operates the electrified 914 mm narrow-gauge tracks running between the towns of Sóller and Palma on the Spanish island of Mallorca. The route opened in 1912. The video was filmed in 2022, 110 years after the route's start. When it was built, the railway was used to transport fruits from the countryside to Palma. Today, it mainly serves as a tourist attraction.By Santeri Taskinen - .
Soller Tram Ride to Port Soller… it's great! (2023)

Soller Tram Ride to Port Soller… it's great! (2023)It’s a beautiful old tram ride from the town of Soller to the port of Soller, passing through the city along the way, with views of stunning orange and lemon trees. The ride ends at the port, giving you time to look around, swim, or enjoy a nice cup of tea. Up we go, the trams are about to leave. Welcome back to the channel! From your car, we're on the tram because I saw you going to Paul's. So, come along for the ride. The actual fare is 8 euros per adult, and the train usually departs every half hour. It's leaving from the town of Sawyer now. We’ve got the train right behind the tram station. The train itself is an old one that goes down to Houma. To get to the center, you’ll see the actual church and the town hall. This is a lovely place to explore, Sawyer. There’s a church just there. As you go down this way, you’ll see some orange and lemon groves. It’s a brilliant journey, really worth doing. These are gardens located in people's houses; you can see various oranges and lemons. Underneath this ground, there's a car park. The conductor just went around and clicked the tickets. The fare is only eight Euros per adult—you can pay by card or cash. Over there, there’s a parked car coming into the beach area, the port. Here is a beautiful swimming area, a lovely sandy beach. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, and bars along here where you can enjoy a meal. Earlier, we left the town of Poyenza, and all this tram route runs from the city to the port and the beach. It’s nice for a walk, and the ground is very flat, making it ideal for mobility scooters. Look at all the people in the sea—it's lovely. On this side, you have cafes, bars, tourist shops, and other stalls. There are also a couple of hotels. I really recommend this journey on the little tram. You can also take boat trips from here or rent boats. This is more or less where we are; we got dropped off here to explore Sawyer. I highly recommend the train trip — it’s a brilliant experience. You see so many orange and lemon groves along the way. From the other side, you can catch the train back from Sawyer all the way down to Colma. We’ve really enjoyed today's film. Please give us a thumbs up, subscribe if you haven't already, and don't forget to join our Facebook group: Lovely Love Milka. I'll catch you on the next film. Bye for now!By Loving life mallorca - .

Mallorca tram (2015)

Mallorca tram (2015)The Tramvia de Sóller runs from the Sóller train station forecourt through the city center and continues through lemon groves to the harbor wall of the "Port de Sóller." The 4.9 km long route has a 914 mm gauge. It operates at a voltage of 600 V. In addition to the original railcars (Nos. 1-3), the rolling stock includes the cars (Nos. 20-24) acquired from Lisbon in 2000. They were converted to gauge in Sóller and are now all painted in the company's livery. Tram 22 has even been adapted to the original railcars and is now almost indistinguishable from them. The tramway uses both the original summer and enclosed trailers as trailers, as well as former railway carriages that have been adapted for tram service. The tramway owes its existence to a law governing the construction of light railways in Spain. This stipulated that a railway line could only receive subsidies if it was longer than 30 kilometers. Since the route from Palma to Sóller was only 27 kilometers long, it was decided in 1913 to officially build the tram as an extension of the original line, thus increasing the entire route to over 30 kilometers. The travel time between the station and the port is approximately 20-30 minutes. P.S.: The tram driver involved in the car accident was very pleased with the video footage, as it was very helpful as evidence.By Strassenbahnfreak - .
Ride in the driver's cab on the Mallorca tram from Sóller to Puerto de Sóller (2014)

Ride in the driver's cab on the Mallorca tram from Sóller to Puerto de Sóller (2014)The railway company Ferrocarril de Sóller S.A. has been operating the daily train service from the island's capital, Palma de Mallorca, to Sóller in the northwest of the island since 1912 (Tren de Sóller or Ferrocarril de Sóller). Since 1913, the tram line from Sóller to Puerto de Sóller, i.e., from the train station to the port, has also been operated (Tranvía entre Sóller y el Puerto de Sóller). Pennula had the opportunity to film a ride in the driver's cab on this famous tram. On October 4, 1913, the tram line between Sóller and Port de Sóller was inaugurated. The construction of the tram became necessary after the railway line from Palma to Sóller was built the previous year. At that time, the connection from the train station in Sóller to the port in Sóller was still missing. Although the tram was initially intended for transporting people, it was increasingly used for freight transport, with a small refrigerated truck carrying fresh fish from the port to the city. The route is just under five kilometres long. It runs from Sóller to the stops Mercat, Can Guida, Can Reus, L'Horta, Monument, Can Llimó, Can Ahir, Roca Roja, Es Control, Sa Torre, S'Espléndido, Las Palmeras, S'Eden, Can Generós, Marysol, and La Payesa. Initially, the tram was powered by its own power station in Sóller station; a 65 hp combustion engine was installed there, which drove a Siemens-Schuckert dynamo, generating a voltage of 600 volts. Tram Soller-Port de Soller -n.2 (2012)
49:21
Tram Soller-Port de Soller -n.2 (2012)Arrived in the cabin of the historic and all-wood Madera Ferrocarril, in Soller, now, with the now century-old tram and the garden carriages from 1890, crossing the narrow streets of the village, brushing the tables of the bars and then wobbling among the citrus groves, I reach the Port de Soller. The Hotel above the terminus, the movements of the historic rolling stock, the splendid bay that seems drawn with a compass, the quiet night, the good morning with the ordinary maintenance of the rails, and the arrival of the first tram. Then off, with the tram, to Soller, skirting, on the ... beach, the incomparable bay. In Soller, I will visit the Depot and Workshops of the Ferrocarril and the Tramway, an unrepeatable open-air railway-tramway Museum with all the vehicles lovingly cared for and in perfect working order.By aloisius1950 - .
