Opening of the Traunseetram (2018)After four years of construction, the new Traunsee tram officially opened on September 1, 2018.
With much fanfare and busy tram traffic, the century-old transit project was ceremoniously inaugurated in Gmunden on the same day. The blessing was given both on stage and from above, even as rain showers refused to dampen anyone’s spirits, which in no way affected the festive mood on this historic day. Thousands of people attended. It was a joyful week, full of umbrellas, but everyone was happy that it finally opened, and there were many tears of joy. So, Putin is very relieved. It was a challenge for the entire group of companies, the town of Gmunden, and the whole region, as always. The camera captures it perfectly in the end: the construction phase is over. I'm not worried; it’s just starting now. Homes will now have homes. I feel relieved. Things are looking up. With the short-term merger of the Traunsee Railway and the Munich tram, you can now travel from Vorchdorf to Blut to the central station, and beyond. For now, please hop on board and explore the region via this transit corridor. It's a significant project, and I'm excited to open it together today. It has a lot of potential. I love it; it's a whole region. It's a great connection. I’ve already examined the route from the freight line to the station multiple times, and it will undoubtedly bring a whole new experience to the region, benefiting commuters, students, and tourists alike. After initial planning in the late 2000s, the project was included in the regional transport plan. On September 4, 2014, a groundbreaking ceremony was held at Klosterplatz. Since then, over the course of four years of construction, the companies have invested a total of 220,000 work hours. The major project was completed, utilizing 1,800 cubic meters of concrete and laying 1,601 meters of track.
Additionally, three switches and three rails were installed, along with pull-out devices and three profile crossings. During bridge construction, traffic was managed with the assistance of four traffic lights. With the opening of the Traunsee Dream, Bunten sets a milestone on the path to a modern future.
Four tough years are now behind us. Now, users should benefit from the added value. This isn’t just a transportation or infrastructure project; if you look at the design of the squares, Klosterplatz and Franzosenplatz are very attractive. We plan to begin underground work, including the installation of new power lines and fiber optics. The sewer system has been renewed, so we don’t have to worry about it for decades. This means the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. It’s a project for customers seeking a prosperous future. A customer-friendly half-hourly service between Putten station and Engelhof station, with even shorter intervals and longer travel times, along with modern stops and the latest technology. In the contemporary Druml vehicles in V3, the planting results move us toward city-center life. The progress has been incredible. I believe it will be amazing. Brilliant.
I'm pleased that, despite the bad weather, it was built very well. Otherwise, things are improving. We’re moving people both literally and figuratively. Few projects in recent years have moved people as much as this one. Go for it! The first ride, a few weeks before the official opening, was met with great interest. We've already done two or three test runs. It's essential to try everything out. It's a great feeling. I can only advise everyone to hop on and experience it for themselves. Traveling by train opens up entirely new perspectives. You have to try it. It's free until September 14.By stadt.regio.tram. Gmunden-Vorchdorf - .

Traunseetram: KARL Z' NEUHUB - stop for the soul, insider tip (2018)It all begins on September 1, 2018! "stadt.regio.tram. Gmunden - Vorchdorf," the project of the century merging the Traunseebahn and Gmunden trams, is becoming the new Traunseetram. With our new video series, we'll show you some impressions, highlights, and excursion tips along the railway line.
This time, we're revealing a genuine insider tip for relaxing and unwinding: In Karl z' Neuhub, you'll find pure nature, and anyone who's always dreamed of peace in the middle of nowhere is in the best possible place... ;)
And now I'll share my secret. Two, we're on the map. It's an insider tip because there's absolutely nothing there—nothing, nothing, nothing—and Wannsee needs peace. You want to visit all these well-known destinations, where you encounter a wide range of experiences. It's an excellent opportunity to relax truly, as there's only nature and no other distractions. Sometimes, you need peace, and that's precisely what you need to unwind, clear your head, recharge your batteries, hear the crickets chirping—that's all you really need sometimes. Yes, there you have the chance to go cross-country hiking. You may walk through this area for years, exploring different directions into the countryside. This also offers some Bach-like serenity. If you want, you can go further to visit Kirchheimer Berger, Kugel Reichenberg, or enjoy the meadows—my ultimate favorite spot—to relax and let your soul hang loose. That’s smart, and of course, nothing beats that.By stadt.regio.tram. Gmunden-Vorchdorf - .

Gmunden-Vorchdorf: The first vehicle is here (2015)In December 2015, the city saw the introduction of its first new vehicle. Gmunden - Vorchdorf of the "Tramlink" type was delivered directly from the manufacturer, Vossloh, based in Valencia, Spain.
On Wednesday, December 2, 2015, around 8:30 p.m., the city's first tram was finally delivered to the train station. The TRL V3 had traveled a considerable distance. From Valencia, it headed to the Atlantic port in Bilbao, then to Rotterdam, and from there along the highway to Vordorf. For several days, this impressive tram drew attention on European roads. The next day, many spectators gathered as the new tram was pulled from the semi-trailer onto the rails—an interesting and uplifting moment for many. The first tram’s arrival creates a positive feeling.
I had already seen it in Valencia, Spain, shortly before its transfer, but now it looks very nice. The entire evening, the brakes were being tested. You could say that it has finally arrived. The mobile future of the region is a historic milestone. The area is part of a year-long project, marking a significant step forward in mobility. Public transport's future focuses on comfort, ease, and flexibility. All age groups saw the new vehicle arrive yesterday; the SP is now implemented for the ST on Franzatz, and the promised traffic reopening in November has been maintained, despite some ongoing work. The new multifunctional stop is unmistakable, similar to the one at Klosterplatz, where STT has a unique philosophy that complements previous designs, featuring trees and the symbol F, representing three trees, which is also a colorful visual play. There will be another tree at the start and end of the stop, symbolizing color and shape, meant to enhance the avenue’s appearance. We deliberately did not want to copy existing designs but to bring our own style. Our focus was on material quality and type, refining these details by reducing the garage entrance size, which allowed for an enlarged parking area nearby. The new paving up to the GRA is meant to visually enhance the entire region, preparing it for the new tram in Munden. This was showcased at the press in the new depot at R 30, which measures 30 meters long, holds 75 seats, and features many multifunctional areas for children and bicycles. Thanks to low-voltage technology and the hall’s structural design, access will be fully barrier-free. This vehicle is unmatched in Europe and tailored to the region’s specific needs. We must operate within certain infrastructure constraints, and trams are not built for railway tracks.
This system handles a 20% gradient. Other vehicles need shorter lengths to manage the incline. The workshop is nearby, emphasizing flexibility. Unlike shops, there are also regional leaders involved. Get a firsthand impression of the new tram. I hope that everyone gets to experience it. I wish this could happen repeatedly. I want people to believe in this progress. I’d love to be there myself. We plan to be present for the first test drive. Please note that the new tram is in operation for the first time. Today, we tested and adjusted the traction system for safety. This will continue next week, along with brake adjustments, system checks, and other components, including the braking system and friction points. The remaining two trams scheduled for delivery in February will be delayed until early March. By then, the vehicles should be ready for passenger operation. Built in Valencia, the entire system engineering, along with critical components like engines, gearboxes, door drive, ventilation, and seat upholstery, is produced in the East.By stadt.regio.tram.
