Hello friends, today I feel a bit empty, and that is, as you can see, because the body of the 113 is pretty empty. Recently, extensive dismantling has been undertaken to repair the damaged basic structure. Since there is no comprehensive technical documentation, we will first complete half of it to create a template for the restoration. The result looks pretty good after all. Yes, that's what it used to look like. After removing the floor, there weren't any magnificent views. Even when the last interior paneling could be persuaded to be removed, there was plenty of new work to be done. For the doors to be repaired, they also had to be persuaded to leave the car. That was the usual picture. Unfortunately, the only things that help are vacuuming and sanding. On the outside, there was a double layer of sheet metal, which was covered with a decorative strip. These areas are always badly affected by rust. We try to save what we can, and so we decided to cut off the upper side, preserve everything, and then reattach the piece. If it is not primed or painted, then it will be cut out, sanded, and welded. Well, that's something to be proud of. Just a short time later, the attachments could be adjusted again. At this point, our reserves are being depleted slowly. To continue, we urgently need your help. Please donate so that the 113 can drive again. Until then, it is still a long way to go.By Sebastian Schüßler - .

Hello, friends. Today, everything is going electric. We want to introduce you to our second project. Twelve years of downtime have left their mark, and a lot needs to be done to bring the last KTVD back to life. The past year was dedicated to removing various rust spots, and now we can focus on the technology of car 22. Since the early 1990s, a total of eight vehicles have been moved from Cottbus to Schöneiche, significantly changing and shaping the face of the interurban railway. Our current goal is to restore this last representative of its kind to operation. All electrical contacts need overhaul, cleaning, replacement, or readjustment. Now, everything is being tested again. It's already working. Dry shifting of the accelerator and gear levels has also passed. Now, it's getting serious. So, be careful; if there's anything wrong, it will work. Off we go on our first test drive. Unfortunately, there isn't much track in the yard, so it went back and forth a few times. Although everything seems nearly finished now and the KT appears technically perfect, there is still a long way to go before it can be registered. Thirty years of operation and twelve years of standing still have caused a lot of wear and tear, making it possible for you to take a ride with this cat. We need your help—please support us with a donation.By Sebastian Schüßler - .

Hello, friends. I have a quick update to share with you today. The first work session of the new year is underway, and we're getting started. Many parts need to be screwed, welded, or drilled out. Fortunately, only one spring under the balance beam was broken. That saved us a lot of time. However, we now need to get the same spring again. That’s proving to be more challenging than expected, but luckily, Marvin found another one. The small parts of the bogies have already been sandblasted and now need rust protection, so everyone is busy painting. Martin found a corner and is carefully coloring it, noting down mistakes. Our new spring is now being coated with a nice black finish. The highlight of the day was the visit from Kerstin Ewald, a reporter for the mods. There was also a little surprise for her — she was allowed to visit the towing vehicle of our sidecar. You can see how it is. She was especially impressed by the remarkable noise from car 73, so stay tuned.By Sebastian Schüßler - .

Hello friends, today we want to show you how the bogies on our wagon were replaced. In the previous video, we already explained why wagon 113 was stored. When it was taken out of service, a broken road beam was diagnosed. To fully repair the wagon, the body had to be separated from the bogies, allowing everything to be refurbished and restored. First, the wagon needs to be brought onto the hoist. Since there’s limited space on the company premises, some items have to be shunted and moved around a bit. Today, to avoid unnecessary shunting, the KTVD 22 is also brought along. It’s still waiting for revival in the workshop hall. Once we reach the hoist, the real work begins. First, the wagon and trestles must be positioned. Then, the crossbeams are placed between two trestles.
The wagon body then rests on top of these, and we can now start. The wagon body is finally up, and the bogies can be moved out. The hoisting position is therefore outside. Now, everything still needs to be cleared away from the decade-long buildup to see if the load beam is truly broken, once and for all. Out with it; luckily, only the spring is broken, not the load beam. For the bogies and small parts to be sandblasted, the car must be placed back on replacement bogies. These are now being retrieved from the open storage area. The interesting thing about these places is that they are identical to our current ones. They were intended for two additional trailers that were never built. After a brief adjustment of the replacement frames, they are now positioned under the car, and the car body can be lowered onto them. The car stands on its auxiliary legs, and now it can be taken out again. Yes, sometimes you have to use muscle power to maneuver it. The first test is over, and now it's time to go back, but the first treatment has already taken its toll—the generation gap. Almost 40 years lie between the two vehicles. A popular game on this day: moving bogies. We did this a few times, but only one time for the very last time. We go back to the hall so that all the small parts can be dismantled. And this is what's left.By Sebastian Schüßler - .

Hello friends, we'd like to share with you a little about the resurrection of something very special: the self-built trailer 1003. I will now give a brief introduction to this topic. Four years after opening, electric operation was introduced in Schöneiche in 1914. For a long time, the VI interurban vehicles, built from 1914 until the late 1920s, carried most of the passenger traffic. By the 1960s, these vehicles had become outdated and experienced high wear and tear. New cars were not an option due to their operational design, and continued operation was at risk multiple times. Now, the small company decided to take matters into its own hands and build new trams.
The output is truly remarkable; however, resources were limited. A total of five motor cars and three trailers were built. The last of this series to be completed was trailer 113. Two additional vehicles were planned, but they never entered service, as shown in this picture. The car can still be seen painted blue. During its first major inspection in 1982, it was given a creamy white finish with a red belly band. Car 113 was always recognizable by two special features. First, it was the only one to have doors on both sides. Second, not only was the car body new, but the bogies were also newly built. All other vehicles, including the railcars, used old bogies with leaf springs. On the 113, only the axles were old. Coil springs replaced the hard leaf springs, giving the car a unique suspension and driving feel that passengers greatly appreciated. At the time of reunification, the vehicle was retired and remained unused for many years. The reason for its retirement was a broken load beam. Whether this was justified can be seen in the following video, which contains many moving images. In 2023, the car was in poor condition. Water had penetrated through the defective roof, causing significant damage. A few tram enthusiasts could no longer bear to see it in this state, so they began refurbishing it. The project has produced a very respectable interim result, and we will keep you updated. Stay tuned.By Sebastian Schüßler - .
