"Helsingborg grew quickly in the late 19th century due to public investment, with ports expanding—South Port in 1880 and North Port in 1891—and new industries, companies, and housing developing. The railway arrived in August 1865, linking the south to Eslöv and the main line from Central Station. In 1885, a railway to Halmstad and the West Coast Line was added, with a harbor station. The city also connected with southern communities via the Helsingborg-Råå-Ramlösa Railway, opened in July 1891."
