Den Haag HTM tram (2025)GTL8 trams are eight-axle, three-section articulated trams with a red-and-beige livery. They are unidirectional, with a cab at one end. The 147 trams were built by La Brugeoise et Nivelles in Brugge, Belgium (later part of Bombardier Transportation) in two generations. About 55 remain in service. The first-generation GTL8-I consists of 100 trams delivered from 1981 to 1984, while the second-generation GTL8-II includes 47 trams delivered from 1992 to 1993. The GTL8 trams have relatively narrow entrances with steps and will be replaced by low-floor Stadler TINA trams. Avenio trams are four-section, 100% low-floor vehicles with a red-and-white R-net livery. They are bi-directional, with cabs on both ends. Seventy of these trams were built by Siemens Mobility in Germany: 40 in 2011, 20 in 2014, and another 10 in 2017. Not pictured here are the RegioCitadis trams. These are three-section, 70% low-floor light rail/tram-train vehicles with dual-voltage capabilities, running on Randstad Rail. The tram network operates on 660 V DC overhead electrification, while the RandstadRail light rail sections use 750 V DC overhead wires. HTM Personenvervoer (HTM) and Rotterdamse Elektrische Tram (RET) operate in this area. These systems connect the cities of The Hague and Rotterdam. HTM Personenvervoer NV (HTM), formerly known as Haagsche Tramweg Maatschappij, provides local transit. Randstad Rail links Rotterdam to The Hague and Zoetermeer. The Hague is the seat of the Dutch government, known as the Staten-Generaal. The Dutch Parliament is bicameral, consisting of the Upper House, called the Eerste Kamer or Senate, and the Lower House, called the Tweede Kamer. The Tweede Kamer has 150 seats, filled through elections based on party-list proportional representation. Usually, the Parliament meets in the Binnenhof, but it has been temporarily relocated to the former Ministry of Foreign Affairs building during renovations.By Frank Adam - .
