Brno trams trolleys (1996)

Brno trams trolleys (1996)This photo was taken on June 2nd, 1996, in the important commercial and industrial city of Bruno. Located at the center of the lands that once made up Czechoslovakia, Brno is now renowned for its trade fairs. Although the town has many old buildings still standing in its center, it is also a modern city with rapidly expanding suburbs. As usual with the Czech trolley fleets, most cars are manufactured by TARTA, including the AL, TARTA T2s, UUS T3s, along with articulated K2 cars and the more recent KT8 models. This includes a batch made in 1993 for Vulgargrad but diverted to Bruno, car 1607, which is a T3 dating from the late 1980s—showing a long span of manufacturing for these cars—and one of the more modern TARTA KT8 articulated trolley buses. In the background, various trolley buses, including the Škoda 1124, the K2, one of the early articulated cars, and units 1628 and 1629 T3s from the late 1980s, are visible. There is also car 1025, a slightly older TARTA K2 built in the mid-1970s, and car 1553, another T3 dating from the late 1960s. Lastly, units 1203 and 124 represent the new order.By DaveSpencer32 - .
