Capital City Light Rail in Operation Simulation (3/3) - Vallensbæk to Ishøj (2025) It's not long now until the Capital City Light Rail opens its first stage, between Rødovre Nord and Ishøj St. In the run-up to the approval of the Light Rail, operational simulations will be run, which means that full operation will be simulated. I will try to document these runs, all the way from Rødovre to Ishøj.
In the third and final section, the Light Rail and the S-Bahn meet twice - in Vallensbæk and the Light Rail's southern terminus: Ishøj. Along the way, the Light Rail winds through less built-up areas, and pulls away from Ring 3 when it reaches Ishøj.

New equipment for the Control and Maintenance Centre (2022) In these weeks, Siemens and Aarsleff Rail As are in the process of building and installing a so-called hydraulic lifting street and a huge roof platform for the maintenance of the future light rail trains – equipment that is absolutely vital for the light rail operation.
The work platform, located above the workshop trench, will facilitate access for the light rail operator, Metro Service, to the equipment placed on top of the light rail trains. And the hydraulic liftgate will make it easier for the operator to access the train's undercarriage from below 🛠️

This is how we lay concrete sleepers (2022) Rails, sleepers, shards! There are many components to keep track of when the rails for Hovedstadens Light Rail need to be in place. Laying down traces is a multi-part process.
First, rails are laid, then sleepers are pushed in underneath, and finally ballast (granite shards) is filled into the track, which is adjusted with a special machine that packs the shards around the sleepers so that the track lies solidly.
In the video below, you can see what it looks like when our contractor, Aarsleff Rail As, pushes sleepers under the track. It looks cool!
The light rail will have two tracks, but one track will be completed in the part of the stretch that is being worked on, so that it can later be used as a working track for heavy machinery that runs on rails, while the other track is being laid. By Hovedstadens Letbane -
