Description

Do you remember our "Diamond" at the Control and Maintenance Centre?

Our contractors, Siemens and Aarsleff Rail, are currently building a scaled-down version of the large ramp that will lead to the future light rail station at Glostrup.

As you can see in the video, the turnouts are delivered "whole" - and not in parts that must subsequently be welded together. This is because switch tracks must be made to millimeter accuracy, as they contain several moving parts that help the train turn up and down the ramp. You can compare the switching tracks to a car engine. When you buy a car, the engine does not come in parts. It is also completely assembled at the factory.

The tracks laid on the straight sections of the route also require precision, of course, but they are easier to lay by eye because they do not consist of moving components.
