Restoration of trailer car 113 - Schöneiche tram 88 - Part 3 (2024)The historic trailer car 113 of the Schöneicher-Rüdersdorfer tram (SRS), which matches the self-built railcar 73 from 1974, is now finally being repaired. You can gain some insight into the work, along with background information, from the weld seam to the ride. On the canal, you can also often see a view of neighboring Woltersdorf. I have a quick update to share with you today. The first work session of the new year is underway, and we're getting started. Many parts need to be screwed, welded, or drilled out. Fortunately, only one spring under the balance beam was broken. That saved us a lot of time. However, we now need to get the same spring again. That’s proving to be more challenging than expected, but luckily, Marvin found another one. The small parts of the bogies have already been sandblasted and now need rust protection, so everyone is busy painting. Martin found a corner and is carefully coloring it, noting down mistakes. Our new spring is now being coated with a nice black finish. The highlight of the day was the visit from Kerstin Ewald, a reporter for the mods. There was also a little surprise for her — she was allowed to visit the towing vehicle of our sidecar. You can see how it is.
