Description
Prague-Old Town Square
Established in the 13th century when the Old Town was founded on the site of the former market square. It forms an irregular square with an area of 900 m2. It was the city center and its commercial center. In 1437, Jan Roháĉ of Dubá was executed here, and in 1621, 27 Czech lords. The center of the square is interesting with a monumental monument to Master Jan Hus by L. Saloun from 1915. In the background is the beautiful Baroque building of the Church of St. Nicholas from 1732-35 by K. I. Dienzenhofer with plastic decoration by Ant. Braun.
