The 100th painting from the series "100 Years of Munich Tram History."
Rail traffic on the Viktualienmarkt, a green and airy market then blessed with trams, in 1927.
Line 5, or the "Kohlrabi Express," as our beloved "Five" was sometimes called colloquially, rolls leisurely along its original track towards the west side of the Church of the Holy Spirit. In service are Type A motor cars, built shortly after the turn of the century, and a Type C trailer car, built in 1911.
Painting by Max Pfaller, Munich. Property of the Gallery of the Studio for International Interurban and Tram History, H. Pollitzer, Munich
