Description
Blackpool is England's favorite holiday resort. It achieved this enviable position by consistently providing attractions that fascinate the millions of visitors who flock to it annually. Blackpool, as a popular resort, dates back to 1781, when Thomas Clifton of Lytham laid a road across the marsh from Preston. The foundation stone of the Blackpool Tower was laid in 1891, and the tower was officially opened on 14 May 1894.
