MUNI Meet your new MUNI Train!

With the delivery of new trains in 2027, San Francisco opened a new chapter for a more modern Muni Metro!
The new fleet - built by Siemens in Sacramento - brings a newer, better, more reliable, and more comfortable ride for San Francisco.

Designed for You. Based on public surveys, these trains are designed by you and for you. Smoother and quieter, these trains have wider aisles to make your Muni experience even better. New passenger information systems with clear, easy-to-read screens and state-of-the-art automated audio announcements make sure you never miss your stop.

Designed for San Francisco. The new trains are built to last. Using the latest advancements in onboard systems engineering, these trains can operate up to 10 times longer without major maintenance. The doors and steps are designed with fewer moving parts to ensure they are always ready to open and close, getting you on your way.

Designed for Sustainability. The new trains are the most sustainable trains in San Francisco yet. These trains run on 100% renewable energy and use 40% less power than conventional trains, all while featuring brighter, clearer LED lights and displays. The engines and brakes recycle power, saving even more energy.

Ride Friendly. Ride Safe.
* Sometimes sudden stops happen. Keep safe by staying seated or holding on to handrails, straps, or poles at all times.

* Be a good neighbor. Eating, drinking, littering, and listening to audio without headphones are not allowed on Muni.

See Tracks? Think Train.
* Tracks are for trains. Bike, skate, and walk on the road or sidewalk, not on or between the tracks.

* Trains can't stop on a dime. Keep a safe distance from tracks at all times. On platforms, stay back from the yellow bumps on the platform edges.

* Crossing tracks is like crossing the street. Before you cross the tracks, always stop, look both ways, and listen carefully for trains. If you are on a bicycle or skateboard, get off and walk across the trackway.

* When the train doors close, it's time to go. Wait for the next train; it'll be there soon.

* The paper train is a toy, but the real ones are not. Please don't damage trains by throwing things at them or putting objects on the tracks.

* Don't take shortcuts when getting on or off a train. Always go around- never- between train cars.
