A new model, of which 20 have been produced, features a body built by Comeng, assembled and fitted in the tramway workshop late in 1984. The seating capacity is 42, but it can carry a "crash load" of 117 people. Weighing 22.2 tons and measuring 15.3 meters in length, it is powered by two 195 kW motors. No. 245 entered service on March 4, 1985.

Happy birthday, tram 866 (2016) On the 11th February 2016, W Class tram SW6.866 celebrated its 75th birthday. To celebrate, the tram was decked out in balloons & birthday decorations as it made its way around the City Circle, conveying tourists and visitors around the city.
