Description

A video from the driver's cab of a full-length tram ride on line 1 in Gorzów Wielkopolski, between Wieprzyce PKP and Fieldorfa "Nila." The line runs along one of the newest sections of track built in Gorzów. The line opened on July 22, 2023. While the rebuilt track on Dworcowa Street was opened on January 2, 2024, allowing trams to reach the central railway station again after 12 years, the section to Fieldorfa-Nila Street was constructed, where trams had never previously run. Over 2 km of new track and three new stops were added: Rondo Gdańskie, Szarych Szeregów, and Fieldorfa "Nila." The route ends with a terminus and junction, enabling only two-way trams to operate there. Before the reconstruction, the route ended at the Silwana loop on Szarych Szeregów Street. Tram lines 1, 3, and 4 run on this new track. Line 1 is approximately 10 km long with 22 stops. The scheduled trip takes about 31 minutes. The route for line 1: Wieprzyce PKP - Kostrzyńska - Aleje 11 Listopada - Generała Władysława Sikorskiego - Warszawska - Podmiejska - Pomorska - Franciszek Walczaka - Fieldorfa "Nila" Street. More details are available in the subtitles displayed in the video (activated by clicking the bar at the bottom). Gorzów Wielkopolski is the 29th most populous city in Poland, with a population of 116,000 residents. Electric trams have been running here since 1899. It is one of 15 Polish cities with its own tram network. The network comprises four permanent tram lines, operating during the day, totaling approximately 13 km. The video was recorded on a PESA Twist 2015N tram, vehicle number 301, in August 2023. Special thanks and greetings to Marcin Pejski, Head of the Transportation Dispatch Department at the Municipal Transport Company in Gorzów Wielkopolski Sp. z o.o., for his help in making this project possible. The video is in 4K resolution.
